PhD student selected as 2022 CADRE fellow

Dara Bright

January 27, 2022

Dara Bright, a PhD student in the School of Education, has been selected as a Community for Advancing Discovery Research in Education (CADRE) Fellow!

The CADRE Fellows program provides professional growth opportunities for early career researchers (e.g., doctoral students, postdocs, research assistants) whose work centers on diversity, inclusion, equity, and/or justice in preK-12 STEM education. Through a series of capacity-building activities, the program offers Fellows the opportunity to gain insight into what it takes to be successful and effective in this field, become more familiar with NSF practices, and network with DRK-12 awardees and other early career researchers from across the country.

Dara earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from The College of William and Mary (2018) and her Master of Science degree in Public Policy from Georgia Institute of Technology (2019). While at Drexel University, she is a Research Assistant in the Methods Lab and the ILLEST Lab. Dara’s research interests focus on developing culturally sustaining educational assessments, closing the opportunity gap for minoritized students in STEM, integrating technology-mediated intervention into the curriculum, and studying policies impacting students with disabilities.
